Siempre means “forever” or “always” in Spanish. For us, the phrase Siempre Tango, “forever tango,” comes down to this:
As long as people seek connection with others, there will always be a place for Argentine Tango in the world. Tango grants us the opportunity to create lasting bonds through intimate embraces and genuine community. This beguiling dance also entices us to keep learning for a lifetime.
Established in 1999, Siempre Tango’s mission is to provide a place to explore this constantly-evolving social dance as a path to wellness, self-confidence, and creative expression. We are also committed to nurturing a vibrant, fun tango community in Ottawa.
In response to the CoVID-19 situation, we are suspending all milongas, prácticas, and group classes until the beginning of April. Our students’ and patrons’ health, safety, and enjoyment are our priority. You can read more about our response here.
Due to concerns regarding the spread of CoVID-19 in our local community, we have suspended our current classes until further notice. We will contact our current students in Tango 302+, Tango 102, and Tango 104+ shortly to talk about re-start dates and class credits.
Bruno’s guest session and our new Tango 101 Intensive will begin (hopefully) at the beignning of April 2020.
Thank you for your understanding!

We’re teaming up with Milonga Querida to welcome Tomás to his annual Ottawa visit.
Milonga Querida – organised by our friend Tiniko – is a monthly milonga, mostly on Saturday afternoons and occasional Saturday evenings, with the intent to come together once a month, dance, and celebrate the wonderful community we are a part of.
One of the biggest drawbacks to workshop weekends is not being able to remember what you’ve learned. Cement your newly-acquired knowledge with some immediate practice!
The práctica will be extra-long to give you time to have a break before coming back to us.

Tango and coronavirus don’t mix. Our desire for human contact puts us dancers at a disadvantage when it comes to public health. Friends from all parts of the world are now in tango “blackout” and unfortunately we have decided to join them. Our community is very diverse. Many people with different workplaces, living situations, and …
For me personally, it has been quite the transition. I feel buoyed by the positive words and kindnesses that our students and patrons have given my teammates and me. We knew we wanted to do things differently, and that would involve change. Change can be painful, but it’s really the only way to grow and …
We’ve received a lot of questions from our returning students about the new curriculum, and rightly so. But let us explain a couple of things: We needed a clear road map for beginners to go from zero to milonga-ready in a few months. And by mandating that students learn to lead and follow from the …
