On Saturday, February 8, we are offering a beginner bootcamp for those who want to take their first steps into tango.
You can use this form to register.
We welcome you to join us for an afternoon of Argentine Tango, warm embraces, and cozy movement! Each bootcamp is $50 per person. No partner necessary to register.
You’ll learn:
- How to create a great tango embrace
- Your first figures
- A brief bit about this history of tango and its cultural context
- How to be a good tango citizen!
All students will learn both roles from the beginning.
This is a perfect opportunity for:
- Absolute beginners who are curious about tango
- Dancers who have not been on the dance floor for a long time
- Dancers who are interested in learning the opposite role
All events will be taking place at 2 Daly Avenue in the Ottawa Dance Directive. For directions, please see our guide.
Some important information:
- HEALTH AND SAFETY: Please stay home if you are feeling unwell or are coughing or sneezing. There are hand sanitizer and masks on hand, should you need them.
- NO PARTNER NECESSARY if you are okay with switching partners. If you are not okay with this, you must attend with a partner that you know and trust, and you don’t have to switch if you don’t want to.
- SHOES: Please bring a pair of clean indoor shoes to change into. If you have dance shoes, that’s great. If you have neither, a pair of cozy socks will suffice.
