This spring we will be offering two cohorts for beginners, one on Sundays and one on Thursdays. Students will choose one or the other. Both are open to complete beginners to tango!
Tango 101 for Beginners
Sundays from 1:00 to 2:30 PM
April 28; May 5, 12; June 2, 9, 16, 23

Your first tango classes will give you the foundations for exploring this creative, improvisational social dance. You will learn:
- How to create a great tango embrace
- Your first figures
- A brief bit about this history of tango and its cultural context
- How to be a good tango citizen!
All students will learn both roles from the beginning.
Please note: There is no class on May 17 (Victoria Day Weekend). On May 26, there will be a supplemental workshop with a guest teacher, and a separate fee will be levied for that workshop.
Price: $175 per person (first class free!) The Sunday Práctica is included in the price of this session.
Beginner Immersion Starts Thursday, April 18

Our new Beginner Immersion is for people who are ready to let tango into their lives! If
- you are completely new to tango
- tango is on your “must-do” list
- if you’ve had a couple of beginner classes already but it didn’t take the first time
- you want a deep dive into tango
- or if you want to get serious about learning the other role
Thursdays might be a game-changer for you!
Ten classes is a commitment! But if you make the commitment to attend ten classes in a row, we will commit to giving you a complete introduction to social tango, and you will be ready to enjoy milongas (tango socials) by the last class.
All students will learn both roles from the beginning.
Each class meeting will have learning time and guided practice. Experienced dancers will drop in occasionally to help and network with new dancers in an informal “tango mentorship.”
No partner necessary!
PRICING
$250 per person. $200 for current Siempre Tango students and returners-to-tango. $125 for full-time students. The Sunday Práctica is included in the price of this session.
Definitions:
- New Students: have never taken tango classes with Siempre Tango before
- Current Students: took a tango course with Siempre Tango from September 2023 – March 2024
- Returners-to-tango: took Tango 101 and did not sign up for the next course immediately after
- Full-time students: students at any local college/uni
