BIO
Based in Buenos Aires, Lya Elcagu is an internationally active Argentine Tango dancer, teacher, and somatic movement educator known for her clear methodology, musical teaching, and embodied approach to technique.
She worked as a professional instructor at the prestigious DNI Tango School and developed her artistic and pedagogical voice through years of study and collaboration with internationally recognized tango maestros and artists in Buenos Aires and abroad.
Since 2018, Lya has taught and performed across Europe and North America, offering tango classes, technique and musicality workshops, and embodied movement training for dancers. Her work is rooted in the tradition of Tango Argentino, while integrating biomechanics and somatic education to help dancers improve posture, balance, coordination, and connection.
She is also a certified Pilates and Yoga teacher (500+ hrs) and the creator of Dance Your Flow, a somatic training method designed to support tango dancers in developing sustainable technique, embodied presence, and authentic expression.
