We are privileged to welcome Veronica Toumanova and Melina Mistral to Ottawa this fall. They have each made visits to Ottawa as individuals, but we are excited that they’ll be coming to see us together! We’re collaborating to offer a full program of workshops, a special edition of Milonga La Capital featuring a performance by our guests, and a guided práctica.
Veronica and Melina first met in Montreal in 2017. They were surprised by their complementary pedagogies and the pleasure of dancing together, and eventually they decided to offer their workshops and performances together in Paris in 2020, just before the start of the pandemic. As soon as the borders reopened, they collaborated in Paris for a second series of workshops in July 2022. We’re glad to be part of their first time teaching together in North America.
