Siempre Tango Ottawa holds a monthly milonga, on the second Saturday of the month.

Siempre Tango Ottawa is honoured to welcome Luis López, who will teach our community more about Chacarera, the Argentine folklore dance. An internationally-recognized Argentine Folklorist, Luis Lopez has traveled all over the world to teach and perform. It is truly a privilege to have an artist of his caliber with us!
PROGRAMMING
1:45 PM
Doors open
2:00 – 3:10 PM
WS 1: Chacarera for Everyone. Learn or review the basics of this fun and compelling Argentine folklore dance, so you can join in whenever it’s done at a milonga.
3:15 – 4:30 PM
WS 2: Chacarera in Detail. Go deeper with the decorations, zapateado, and other subtleties of the masculine and feminine roles, so you can have fun and connect with the music even more! (Prior experience required)
7:00 – 8:10 PM
La Primera Milonga: A workshop for our beginner dancers to review what they know, and learn how a tango social works. Meet other beginners, dance with your teachers, and get comfortable in the space!
8:15 PM – after Midnight
Milonga La Capital, featuring tandas by DJ Burak (Montreal).
VENUE
We are happy to host La Capital at the Westboro Masonic Hall at 430 Churchill Avenue North.
PARKING
There is plenty of free parking a short distance from the venue. Please check out our venue guide for more information.
FOOD and DRINK
Light snacks and water will be provided.
PRICING for July 12
$30 per Chacarera workshop
$50 for both
$15 for the milonga if you take workshops with Luis
$25 for La Primera Milonga (workshop + milonga)
$20 for the milonga only
That being said, I will also not turn anyone away because they cannot afford it. There are volunteer opportunities available in exchange for free entrace. Please email info@siempretango.ca!
